South Australian cyclist, Carlee Taylor, will ride in Revolve24 Australia as an ambassador for JDRF at The Bend Motorsport Park next March. JDRF is proud to be the official charity partner of Revolve24 Australia 2019.
Carlee, 29, was a triathlete before commencing her cycling career as the 2008 Amy Gillett Scholarship recipient. She has ridden with the Australian national team, among other prestigious women’s professional cycling teams.
The Bend was home to Carlee’s final race as a pro cyclist. Carlee retired from riding professionally this year, ending her career on home soil in Adelaide at the 2018 Santos Women’s Tour Down Under.
“We are delighted to see Carlee Taylor sign up and take on the Revolve24 Australia challenge whilst encouraging participants to raise much needed funds for JDRF, which is such a great cause,” said Revolve24 event founder David Fell.
“After riding at The Bend only once in January in extreme weather conditions, Carlee has got a taste for the track and is returning to complete some unfinished business. She is up to the challenge.”
Riders keen to take on Revolve24 can choose to be involved as a standard entry or take it to the next level and join Carlee as a charity entry, raising funds for JDRF. In return, JDRF charity riders will get reduced registration fees and other amazing incentives like a head-set cap in your choice of colour plus a JDRF cycling jersey.
After riding The Bend for a hot lap of the 4.9 km International Circuit testing herself against Revolve24 race director, Stuart O’Grady, Carlee Taylor is looking forward to taking part in what will be a fast, safe and fun event.
“Revolve24 Australia is an amazing event as it gives riders the opportunity to take to the tarmac in a safe and controlled environment. I am encouraging participants to work alongside me and help raise much needed funds for JDRF,” said Carlee Taylor.
“Whilst I am raising awareness for JDRF and the great work they do in the community, I am also taking this opportunity to encourage as many women as possible to join my team in the 24hr Challenge. It will be girl power at its greatest and I want our team to rival all others.”
Revolve24 Australia
Revolve24 Australia is a traffic-free endurance team cycling challenge held on what will be an iconic motor circuit in South Australia. The event has 24, 12 or 6 hour distances to choose from, riding either as an individual or part of a team as well as other disciplines. Whether you’re going solo or in a team of up to eight, you can create your own strategy to suit your team size, ability and ambition. The 16 – 17 March 2019 event will be the second time the event has been staged in Australia.
Revolve24 is also an opportunity for the T1D community to come together, and a JDRF support team will be there to celebrate and welcome all riders to our dedicated JDRF areas. Families and non-riding supporters are also welcome.
Revolve24 registrations are open. Take advantage of the Early Bird offer until 1 September 2018 and register as Team JDRF.
